Why these not those?

There are a gazillion essential oils out there with so many combinations available on the market. So how do we choose which combination to use in our products? How do we know, which will be the best for the results we want the product to deliver?

When I design products (and make no mistake this is a design process), I start at the end … meaning I start with you – the buyer. I ask myself what are the everyday skincare issues that plague men and women? How can I help with those? And lastly, how can I do it in the simplest way?

The way I see it, most women and men have the following basic everyday complaints about their skin. It is too dry, too oily, prone to spots and blackheads, prone to redness or all of these at once (or at least it feels that way). My aim is to help you deal with these complaints in the simplest way possible while being authentic to my goals of natural, simple, everyday and accessible.

So with my products I decided to keep it really simple, and made sure that all the products had a maximum of 4 essential oils. If I couldn’t do it with 4 or less then I had to go back to the beginning!

Girl

Our Girl lotion is a great example of this. I set out to create a product that dealt with the ever-changeable skin of the active young woman.

Most young women have what I like to call ‘non cooperative skin’… you know the type of skin that is absolutely perfect one day and the next feels like sand-paper or worse all the spots and black heads in the world decide to have a party on your face! There are of course lots of essential oils that have properties that can help with this but I wanted to create the BEST combination that was simple and accessible, and a mixture of chamomile, geranium and sweet orange creates a wonderful synergy that is simple, accessible and elegant.

  • Chamomile, has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin reducing redness and irritation. It has known anti-bacterial qualities and is known to help with tissue regeneration. It has a soothing and calming effect helping to alleviate stress.
  • Orange helps reduce puffiness caused by water retention in the skin and helps with oily and dull complexions. It is also known to help cell regeneration and the aroma is refreshing and uplifting
  • Geranium essential oil is known to help balance sebum production in the skin so it is awesome for oily skin. It also helps with improving circulation in the skin and reducing water retention during PMS and helps tissue regeneration. It helps calm irritability and relaxes the mind.

With this combination, the Lotion Girl can help you get the ‘cooperative’ awesome skin you want… Oh and it smells amazing!

Take a look at these before and after shots! Our client used Girl and they are separated by about 10 minutes.
